Our Fun Weekend!

Cove Mountain is such a beautiful place!! It is so green this year and gorgeous. We gave up going to the Manti Pageant to go up and have dinner and roast marshmallows!!
The trip was going great. I got a lot of great pictures......
We saw a beautiful Bull. Quite unbelievable how big and majestic these Elk are. They are huge! Oh he was only 30 yards away Wade said.
And to top our trip off!!!!!!!!!!!!!We blew a tire and had a flat spare. Yes, I know how dumb can you be to travel around with a flat spare. Well, we only had to wait about 5 minutes for a truck to pass by and ask to help us out. The tire wasn't off yet though so Wade told him to go ahead. I have never been so mad in all my life. We could have all ridden down the road back to Richfield in the back of his truck. But, no you go ahead we'll just call a taxi when we're ready.
So we waited about 5 more minutes, and some guy in a Mule came by and took Wade down the Mtn. with the flat.
Yes, folks he left us on the Mtn. to go down and get help. We could have all ridden in the back of the truck, but no. I'm not still bitter can you tell? Needless to say our Tahoe is in the shop and has been for the last month, and everyone we knew was at the Pageant. But, we were blessed enough to have a loner from the dealership, so Wade went down and 2 1/2 hours later he showed up to take us home. The kids and I played games and tried to sit really still because the car was still on the Jack. Wade told us to not get inside, so it didn't roll off. Ya right! It's dark, mosquitos are everywhere, who knows how long until he comes back and he wants us to sit outside and wait. Oh did I forget to mention we just saw a huge bull elk, not a mile away and my sweet outdoorsy husband wants us to sit outside. Hahahahahaaaa. I may be a city girl, but I'm not stupid. Or maybe I am. He seems to think it was silly of me to not want to sit outside in the dark on the Mtn. that is full of wild animals.So............ Wade showed up and I was still fuming. He has always tried to make me laugh when I'm angry so he put Paityn on his lap and literally let her drive down some of the Mtn. Yes, grandparents it was crazy I know, but we all had a good laugh and we were somewhat safe. My anger was a tad bit diffused and we all went to bed about midnight only to wake up the next morning at 7 to get a tire and get back up on the Mtn. to fetch the dog. Oh I forgot we had Ruger with us, and not 5 minutes into our trip he rolled in some animals markings so he reeked of Nastiness!! We left him in his kennel in the Expedition.
So the next morning, we decided to follow through with our previous plans and let the kids fish and have some fun.
Paityn rubbed Dandelions all over her mouth.
The kids and Wade fished while I read.
Brett skipped rocks
Lindsey caught one of the 3 fish.
And the kids and Ruger got into the lake and had a blast! So, the morale of the story is: Don't drive with a flat spare, and never let your husband do the talking when you are stuck!!! Love ya Babe. Wade said it was all worth it just to see the Elk. MEN!!!

Sounds like a rough start but a happy ending. Murphy's Law seems to always happen at unexpected times.
Those pictures bring back good memories of fishing at Big Lake. It seems like we were always able to catch a few trout out of there. Great picture of the elk.
Aah, the well planned family outing. We girls have been skippig those lately, and letting the boys get into their own trouble, and fix their own problems. You couldn't have planned a more memorable trip!
I wish i was in utah getting stuck on a mnt.. you lucky duck!
Sounds like a man! Sorry about your adventure, it looks really pretty though. AND, just to see that elk I am sure made it all worth it. That is hilarious! I can just see you fuming! Maybe we will see you this summer in the good ole' hometown.
Making Memories-Good and Bad! Thanks for the pictures of Cove Mountain. It was so fun to see you at the wedding and temple. Thanks for coming!
